Maya resurgence in Mexico and Guatemala. This is a lecture I took from The Teaching Company, a fancy pants lecture production company that sells lectures-on-CD usually available at the public library in the US. This lecture was called “Maya Resurgence” from a 12-part lecture series on world anthropology. The lecturer is attracted by personality exploits of Subcommandante Marcos, and goes in detail about this, explaining that these personality exploits are what attracted the international media to the Zapatista plight. However the lecturer falls into the same pit of finding these exploits just as fascinating. Keep that in mind. Other than this the lecture is very informative for a wide audience so I made the lecture into a video using images from the internet and media.
