Clever advertising from CUPE 3909.
Buzz Hargrove is a good writer on Canadian labor organizing from a revolutionary perspective. I very much agree with his position in Unions: A Revolutionary Critique and Review of Labour of Love. Workers? Autonomy? written by the Workers’ Playtime Group is a thoughtful piece too. Here is an interesting piece on union leadership that betrayed a General Strike in Vancouver, BC, 2004.
This video will most likely win over an audience, especially a privileged one. It’s too bad the union has to stress to the public they’re only asking for meager pay raises. It’s too bad all they’re asking for is to renew their collective agreement. All they’re asking are small victories. It appears York is already winning their social war against the largest union in Canada, CUPE.
